Winter may be melting into spring these September school holidays, but there is still plenty of very cool fun happening under the Big Top at the O'Brien Group Arena ice skating rinks at Docklands. From 17th September to 2nd October 2016 families can enjoy a range of fun and physical activities together with plenty of great giveaways and prizes to win, too.
If you've never been ice-skating before, this is the perfect opportunity to lace up some boots and give it a try. Everyone is welcome at Skate Into Carnivale Under the Big Top at the O'Brien Group Arena. The program is jam-packed with family-friendly activities catering to every age and ability.
Starting with the littlies under 8 years - with the help of the O'Brien Group Arena Ice Ambassadors, children will be lead through a series of games, using toys, and introduced to the snow-play area and seals for an exciting ice and snow packed experience. This section will be open every morning from 9am to 11am during the school holidays from Sunday 18th September.
Beginners are welcome to participate in a free, 15-minute lesson with an experienced Ice Ambassador. Learn the basics such as how to take off, turn, slow down and even fall safely on the ice. Beginner lessons are conducted between 11am to 2pm daily.
Once you've mastered the basics, take it to the next level with a free lesson in how to skate backwards. Also conducted between 11am to 2pm daily.
The two Olympic sized rinks will be open to the public for general skating from 9am to late every day during the September school holidays. Enjoy the atmosphere with DJ led soundtrack all day and night long.
Circus Oz performers will be appearing under the Big Top at the O'Brien Group Arena during the holiday season to add a festive atmosphere, but this is not just a show. Take some juggling lessons from some of the best in the business between 11am to 3pm daily.
Then to warm up and chill out, venture into the Chalet Craft Room and engage in some craft activities and have your face painted, also between 11am to 3pm daily.
There will be a host of fantastic giveaways and prizes right across the spring holiday fortnight, so make these holidays really cool and have a day out everyone will remember.
