Is there a special companion missing from your life? Do you want someone to cuddle up next to on the lounge in front of the TV? Do you often find yourself disappearing down a YouTube wormhole of cat video, after cat video, after cat video?



If you answered in the affirmative to any of these questions, could be the perfect event for you. Taking place in Acacia Ridge on Saturday, January 30, this highly anticipated event is Queensland's first cat show of 2016.

Showcasing some of the finest and most adored pedigree felines the Sunshine State has to offer, offers the perfect way to get up close and personal with some fantastic felines. "We invite people of all ages to attend the show not just to watch the judging, but also be a part of it!" says Brian Edwards, President of ANCATS, Australia's only national cat registering group affiliated with the World Cat Federation. Instead of sitting back and letting the experts pick the winner, the show's judging will be held in an open forum so that event attendees can participate.



But there's much more to the show than just watching a few cute kitties strut their stuff. "You'll also mingle with breeders and learn about responsible cat ownership," Edwards explains.

Visitors to the show can meet plenty of adorable kittens and cats, learn about what it takes to be a responsible cat owner, and sharpen their knowledge about the different cat breeds and work out which breed might make the perfect pet for you.

You can mingle with breeders and other cat lovers and meet breeds such as the Burmese, Bengal, Maine Coone and Ragdoll. In short, if you're thinking of adding a cat to your family but you want to know more about the ins and outs of owning a feline, this show is ideal for you.

It kicks off at 10am on January 30 at Coopers Colonial Motel in Acacia Ridge, with entry set at $5 for adults and $3 for children.
