Sizzler After Dinner Chocolate Mints
Sizzler After Dinner Chocolate Mints

To be quite honest I haven't been to a Sizzler restaurant for years, so when my mum mentioned she got a $50 gift card to go to a Sizzler restaurant I wasn't that excited about the Sizzler bit but I was excited about the free food. To my surprise Sizzler has totally changed, their new slogan is "Yummier" and I would definitely have to agree with that.

Before we even arrived to view the Sizzler menu I knew what I was going to order, I definitely wanted the salad bar option. The salad bar option is all you can eat food and drink. For those lover's of steak, chicken or seafood you can order these meals separately but for me the best part of the meal without a doubt was the salads.

Fresher, Tastier Salad with Sizzler

My previous memories of Sizzler were like eating a version of heavy carbohydrates in the the form of a Mrs Crockets type potato and pasta salad. These new salads looked fresh, inviting and healthy. My favourite salad was called the Indonesian Rice Salad and my mum loved the Chicken, Cranberry and Almond Salad. They also had several other options like the Pear, Feta and Walnut Caesar Salad.

After speaking to the manager, he informed me Sizzler has changed and it's new approach is keeping up with the times. I would have to agree with the manager, Sizzler has changed and by the sound of their new salad options it is definitely making a big effort to keep up with the times.

To finish off my meal I couldn't resist dessert. Normally I am not an advocate for preservatives or unhealthy foods but it was fun making my own sundae. I guess there is still that big kid in me after all. P.S. I only ate half.

Why not take the kids these holidays to a Sizzler restaurant and they can experience the fun of making their own do it yourself sundaes with jelly beans, marshmallows, sprinkles and wafers. Sizzler restaurants are located in QLD, NSW and WA. For more information about Sizzler gift cards or the latest menu in a store near you, visit the following website.

Sizzler is ridiculously overpriced. We ate at the one in Annerley and the food was mediocre at best. It cost $100 for 2 adult meals and 3 kids meals. The kids meals ($10.90) looked like they had been removed from a Happy Meal box and put on a plate. They did have a large selection of yummy salads though and the kids loved the dessert bar. But we won't be going back and I wouldn't recommed it.

Such a girlie. Goes to a steakhouse but only to eat healthy salad then tops it off by making a massive sundae but eases the conscience by only eating half of it. You go to a place like Sizzler for a big chunk of bleeding protein. Mind you, don't particularly like chain steakhouses like Sizzler, SSS, Hogs Breath, Outback Steakhouse, etc. They're always too bright, too loud and decked out like a poor mans Disneyland. My recommendation is Wildwater Grill at Dee Why overlooking the beach. Great views, great meat and they even do a salad or two.

Having worked as a Sizzler Waitress for the past 8 months, it is a good place to be. It can be considered over priced but remember what you're getting, all you can eat and at dinners included salad bar with any meal purchase. Also I find it very annoying when you only eat half your dessert. If your going to make, it eat it, because the wastage is bad enough without your contribution, and you paid for it.
