Get ready for all sorts of grill-spiration with plenty of free tastings available including meat, seafood and meat-free options. Traders will also have Sizzlefest specials for purchase for you to amaze friends and family with your BBQ prowess.
Chef Bente Grysbaek will be cooking up a storm over a fire pit in Market Square. Just follow your nose to check out his "Off the Grid" style of no power, minimal waste cooking.
Join Tobie Puttock (chef, author and presenter) in Market Square as he chats to the Traders sharing tips and suggestions to help you become a grill master at home.
Some of the regular Traders will also be presenting a demonstration on different cooking styles and techniques. For example, The Essential Ingredient will be demonstrating grilling on Salt Bricks in front of their store and Prahran Seafoods will have you preparing grilled octopus at home before you know it.
The Prahran Markets annual Sausage Tasting Competition will also be held on the day. Head over to the Omega Neil Perry Kitchen in Harvest Hall between 12pm and 2pm, and check out the butchers and poulterers vying for the coveted prize – being crowned as Sausage King/Queen of the Market. Tasting and voting are free and your votes get to decide the winner. You'll also go into a draw to win some great prizes.
