Six and Five Cafe in Norwood
A teal clapboard front and white finishings with a couple of metal café chairs give this little place off the main strip in Norwood a beachy vibe.

65 Sydenham Road, Norwood is a little way down from the regular hustle and bustle of the popular shopping and dining strip of The Parade. It's no less enjoyable, however. It might give off that beachy air, especially as winter starts to disappear, but inside your taste buds are about to start watering for Korean fried chicken, Thai corn fritters, bacon and eggs, Vietnamese salad and pork belly benedict among other delicious options. On top of this menu list, there's also a fridge counter offering sweet muffins, cakes, sandwiches, baguettes and rolls. It's a lunch haven.

When you first walk in and check-in, you immediately know that the little cafe is well-loved and taken care of. It's shiny clean and spacious enough for indoor seating as well as people picking up their takeaway orders or lining up to pay.

The menu is not extensive, but it doesn't need to be. There are some great, interesting choices available. For example, the Korean Fried Chicken Burger wasn't just a chicken patty, or even a chicken schnitzel. It was chicken in a thick layer of batter and deep-fried until crispy and gold. The nuggets were the same - real chicken, people with that beautiful batter coating.

The coffee was also great, and they cater to a range of milk preferences and also have tea available. There's a cold drinks fridge and if you're thinking to stick around and sip slowly, the newspaper is on the bench by the window ready for you.

The prices were a little steeper, only slightly than I'm used to but I'll cut the place some slack given that it's very close to the CBD, The Parade and in the swanky neighbourhood of Norwood. Besides, for this food, I will happily pay that little bit extra.

The little cafe doesn't stop there though! They are available for delivery within a 3km radius from 5am, too! Now you can crave an almond milk latte and a 'croffle' (a croissantXwaffle) any time of day!

There is ample street parking, or if you're further up The Parade you could wander straight down, and plenty of space inside if you were bringing a pram or needing wheelchair access (be mindful, there is one small step at the entrance). If you were sitting outside enjoying the fresh air, you could even bring your four-legged pal.

Six and Five Cafe are open 7 days a week, and are only closed for a portion of the afternoon in order to get ready for the dinner crowds - there are no excuses now! Pop on over to Norwood and enjoy something delicious and unique today.
