The choir with the original name of the Sisters of Abundance will celebrate their wide-ranging repertoire in an upcoming concert. This rather quirky bunch of sisters has a lively choir going on. They specialise in four part harmonies of modern and popular classics.

The choir originated as an offshoot of a production of The Sound of Music. The nuns in the production bonded over learning Latin, harmonies and holy water. As there were many of them the phrase was coined 'Sisters of Abundance' and it stuck.

They moved on to choreograph their own moves and harmonies to classics like 'Shout' by Johnny O'Keefe and 'Stop in the Name of Love' by the Supremes.

The choir has performed in many diverse venues. Including a country garden wedding, birthday celebrations, the Adelaide combined choir concerts, food and wine affairs, Gala balls, Christmas carols, Almond Blossom Festival and even a very hot beach wedding day. They are a well-known fixture on events calendars.

Performing being the highlight of their joy in singing. They describe themselves as an easygoing group of ladies - amateurs, but not amateurish.

Their rehearsals are a time of workshopping new tunes and polishing old ones. The choir has an annual concert, which is coming up on the horizon. With special guest artists Murphy Adult Irish Dancers and Ashleigh Bullock. Part proceeds to charity. Tickets only $15 and includes afternoon tea.

At the McLaren Vale Institute Hall, Main Road, McLaren Vale.
September 28th at 2pm.

Prepare to hear new versions of old pop classics like 'You make me feel like dancing' and groove to new dance moves. It is hard to not join in the fun.
