Coastal brunch vibes in Mindarie at Sista's Mindarie
A brand new cafe has opened in Mindarie Marina and if you're a brunch lover, you need to put it on your to-visit list now!
Sistas Mindarie has been beautifully fitted out and has that coastal vibe that ocean-lovers just can't get enough of. Bench seating along white wood-panelled walls and oversized rattan light fittings add to the beach feel. There's also some gorgeous painted artwork on the walls near the coffee machine.
It's a new addition to the Sista' Cafe family - with the original one being Sistas Burns Beach, a super popular cafe in the northern suburbs.
The menu is all -day which means everyone can find exactly what they feel like whether it's eggs on toast, a full breakfast or a cheeseburger.
Menu choices are interesting and include things like:
chicken waffles with whipped butter and maple syrup
vegan bowl of brown rice, house-made kimchi, tempeh, kale, seeds and white miso
eggs Blackstone with bacon crumb, grilled tomato and hollandaise sauce served with ciabatta bread
Korean chicken burger with wasabi slaw, cheese, special KO sauce and crunchy noodles
crab linguini with garlic chilli and lemon parsley
Additionally, there's a fresh food cabinet filled with baked goods and light snacks too.
I opted for my favourite - smashed avo which came with perfectly cooked, poached eggs, soft, creamy feta cheese, African Rafiki spices served atop toast, with preserved lemon, which just gave the dish an extra dimension of flavour.
My foodie friend Amanda went for her favourite, the potato hash and absolutely sang its praises. It came with poached eggs, bacon, rocket, parmesan and mustard.
All the dishes we saw coming out of the kitchen were beautifully presented and looked divine.
Coffees are good too, although a little on the expensive side - my large flat white ($4.20) comes to $7.20 with the optional almond milk ( $1) and size upgrade ( $2).
There's heaps of seating inside but nicely spaced out, so you don't feel like you're on top of other people. There are also several tables and high bars outside the front and tables out the back too with lots of shade, which will make this a popular spot all year round for sure.
They have something very exciting up their sleeves too - a bottomless brunch with local and fine wines from across WA and Australia - launching in the next few weeks once they have their license and have ironed out all the kinks that come when you open a new restaurant. So watch this space!
With a gorgeous outlook over the boats in the marina, you'll be hard-pressed to find better food with this kind of view in the area.
