North Rd may well be the South-East suburbs equivalent of Route 66 or the Las Vegas Strip.
Driving late at night there shall be the relative darkness for a time and then boom! All sides of your eyes are lit up by attractions offer. While some may say Caesar's Palace need not feel threatened by Thai Ormond, or the Bellagio by OnTop Bar, the author can affirm once you've seen the best of these places you'll feel too there's indeed something special about this Ormond strip of shops, restaurants and more.
In turn, while Sip N Bite is a couple of hundred metres down from Ormond proper - so 'off the strip' as it were - with its beaming sign outfront it no less delivers substantial light and wattage to gain the customers attention. For this reason and more, Sip N Bite Kebabs can be viewed as another 'must try' on an evening ahead.
The view Inside Sip N Bite Kebabs on a typical Melbourne night...
Walking on in, you'll at first almost certainly see Pringles. Yes, Pringles. True a 'purist' might contest whether these have place in a kebab store - but pursuits are rarely the life of the party. With this, at first glance it is clear this is a kebab store with a difference (more on this to follow). In turn, as distinct from being out of place it makes a quality addition for customers keen on some sour cream and chives chips to compliment their garlic wrap.

Speaking of, and the kebabs proper: a diverse menu is listed as Sip N Bite. Yet, of the 'deals' listed, two perhaps are foremost in their appeal. First, the Big Mouth Combo, which is 2 kebabs, 1 chips, 1 garlic bread, and 1 x 1.25 litres of soft drink. While this might be something to hearty for just one person to eat - unless they were very hungry - for 2 people it appears about perfect with a kebab and a bonus or two to address a hunger pang for $30 all up. And, for someone in the company of a couple of friends, there is the dinner deal: 4 kebabs, 2 chips, 4 Dim sims, and 1.25l soft drink which comes to $49.90 in total. Finally, alongside making mention that Dim sims are offered - alongside Pringles and Co. - so too does Sip N Bite offer a Chicken and rice dish.
To be clear then, if you just desire a kebab that is altogether fine and this restaurant can cater for you. Yet, it is just the same should you desire something more: and this is a great draw for when your visiting with friends who may not all have their heart set on a lamb wrap.
True much has been written about the variety on offer already in this review, but milkshakes and Turkish Delights really should be included...
By the way, for those whom are wondering, a word on the name, and especially the 'sip'. Found on SNB's website is the overview of the menu as follows "Options include kebabs, Turkish Pide, and food that everyone can thoroughly enjoy such as chicken strips and creamy milkshakes.". It the continues before reaching a conclusion with "you can even order refreshing mango juice with your meal!".
And so may explain at the start the reason for 'sip' in the name Sip N Bite Kebabs, and another reason for a visit for the mango juice is [adjectives] and a unusual compliment to a kebab on a weekend evening.
It should also be mentioned that Sip N Bite does deliveries to the local area, [broadly speaking anywhere within the bounds of Oakleigh to Gardenvale from East to West, and Ormond to Bentleigh from North to South]. While true many customers may find a kebab comes to most to mind when driving home from a day at work or late at night, no less, for visitors that desire one ahead-of-time the option is there.
Finally, Sip N Bite also offers a 'call, come and collect' method. For folks who are driving home and want to eat in a matter of minutes or for someones who's en route to somewhere and short on time, this is a great option.
Sip N Bite Kebab, whether keen on a wrap, rice, or Dim sim, this place has it covered - and then some. If in Ormond and keen to walk away pleased and feeling full; Sip N Bite is a quality option.
