On a cold morning, I was very early for work so popped into for some breakfast. Sip is located on Royal St East Perth and is well-lit with spacious seating - unlike some cafes, you don't feel like they've squeezed tables into every available space. For this reason I think it would work well for a catch up with friends or equally for a business meeting.

I ordered toasted banana bread with a flat white. The counter service was friendly and efficient, however I thought the coffee was a little on the slow side coming out. I wasn't in a hurry and perhaps they prioritised the takeaway orders, so it didn't bother me.

The banana bread did taste like it was homemade as promised; it was moist and tasty with a fair sprinkling of walnuts. The coffee was excellent - perfect temperature and a nice well-rounded brew.

Other early-morning breakfast options include both sweet and savoury muffins, fruit/yogurt bowls and filled croissants, as well as milkshake and smoothie options for warmer days. EFTPOS is accepted but if your total is under $9.00 there is a 50c surcharge.

Sip Espresso Bar is at 24/108 Royal St, and is open Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm.
