Singin' in the Rain, Hollywood's most popular musical movie, hits the Sydney Lyric Theatre in July with live performances of all the romantic song and dance we've loved for decades.

Singin' in the Rain was a 1950s film marking the transition from silent film to the sensory delights of audio which transformed the concept of movie-making. While established actors, directors and writers adjusted to the new technology and the potential for audiences, a new generation of stars emerged, including the pioneering Gene Kelly. Gene was already a popular talent before he directed and starred in this film but once released, his vision of exciting film goers with the art of the musical and the ballet became a joyous reality.



In this stage production, bursting into Australia after sell-out seasons in England and America, we'll experience the uplifting songs from the film, including Good Morning, Make 'em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the classic Singin' in the Rain.



Gene Kelly's iconic role of Don Lockwood will be played by Adam Garcia as he sings and dances while thousands of litres of rain cascade over the stage. He'll be joined by Gretel Scarlett, Jack Chambers, Erika Heynatz and an ensemble cast of over 20 of Australia's most energetic dancers. The spectacular stages, special effects and charismatic cast will transport you into the magical world created by Gene Kelly, giving you an evening of beauty to remember forever.
