I am always looking out for new experiences, wherever I may find myself.
The Singapore Shiok Food Truck will be hitting the streets this week, from Wednesday March 6 to Tuesday March 12, serving up authentic hawker-style food that will give Sydney-siders a taste of Singapore.
The truck's delicious menu has been designed by Audra Morrice, a 2012 MasterChef finalist who is from Singapore herself. It includes Katong laksa, Sambal stingray, Nonya chicken curry and Popiah. All dishes cost between $3.00 and $6.00, with the low prices reflecting the affordability of hawker centres in Singapore.
You will find the Singapore Shiok Food Truck in prominent locations around the city, usually timed to coincide with the lunch and dinner hours.
Wednesday March 6: The food truck's first stop will be Harmony Park, Surry Hills, where it will serve lunch from 12.00pm to 3.00pm. It will then move to Sydney Park, ready to serve dinner between 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
Thursday March 7: Head to Amelia Street in Waterloo from 12.00pm to 4.00pm or Belmore Park in Sydney between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.
Friday March 8: Today, the food truck will appear twice at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, first between 5.00am to 8.00am, and then again from 12.00pm to 3.00pm (with Audra herself making an appearance this time). It will also be at Pitt Street Mall from 9.00pm to 11.00pm.
Saturday March 9: The Singapore Shiok Food Truck will be at Wentworth Park, Glebe, from 12.00pm to 3.00pm (another time Audra will be there). It will then visit Hyde Park, on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Park Street, between 6.00pm and 9.00pm.
Sunday March 10: The food truck will return to the Overseas Passenger Terminal today, ready to serve up lunch from 12.00pm to 3.00pm. It will then be in the Sydney CBD from 6.00pm to 9.00pm.
