Singapore House, as the name would suggest, serves Singaporean food. However, many people probably would not be aware, that Singporean cuisine has actually been influenced by Malay, Chinese, Indonesian and Indian traditions. When you have a look at the menu, you can definitely see this. They have dishes such as Indian vindaloo curry, to nasi lomak (a Malaysian curry), to Chinese style broad beans. At the end of the day, all that matters is that if you like Asian food, you will probably like this place.

If you go there for lunch, they have a special lunch menu which is pretty good value. Another little tip - all their entrees can be ordered as mains as well, if there is something there that appeals to you. There is no need to worry about serving sizes either, as it is all pretty generous servings. My partner and I decided on the crispy soft shell crab and a beef rendang with coconut rice. Both dishes were very flavoursome and filling.

On the day we went, it wasn't that busy, and thus as expected, the service was pretty fast. Overall, it was a nice dining experience, and I would definitely go back again in the future.

One final thing before I go - check out their butterfly room as you leave the restaurant. Chances are you haven't seen anything like that before. Perhaps I'll keep that room in mind the next time I organise a small group function.
