Singapore is renowned as a top foodie destination and as a family-friendly destination. However, it has a dynamic art scene that is interesting and eclectic too. Singapore is one of my favourite destinations. It is full of surprises and there is always more to discover here.

The art scene in Singapore is exploratory. It covers contemporary issues that go beyond geographical boundaries. Surprising, as one does not expect to see art installations in the common MRT stations. The MRT includes murals and indigenous art to the area. That wasn't in the guide book!

So as you take your uber cheap ride around Singapore in the super clean MRT, make sure you stop, have your camera at the ready, walk slow and keep your eyes peeled. You will see art installations around various stations. The plaques are good as they tell the story behind the art.

If you love art as much as I do, do make your way to the . Do not let the entrance deceive you. You will greeted with a friendly smile from the ticketing booth. Inside the Art Museum is enormous. It has a great little shop and it caters nicely to both adults and children.

It also has a lovely little Italian restaurant nestled in the complex. There is also a food hall literally across the road, that has amazing food for next to nix. It just wouldn't be Singapore if food wasn't involved somehow!
