Sing Your Heart Out
Sing Australia is having a FREE Open Night, from 7.30 - 9.30pm on Tuesday 22nd July 2014. This event is being held at the Camberwell Uniting Church, 314 Camberwell Road, Camberwell.
Haven't heard of Sing Australia? They are a dedicated singing organisation that has a network of 150 singing groups across Australia. To see where your closest group is, click here.
Sing Australia has 150 groups nationwide
As well as holding singing events and gatherings, Sing Australia also organises tours for its members, both within Australia and overseas.
And here's the best bit: you don't need to be musically talented to join Sing Australia! There are NO auditions and no expectations on ability. You don't even need to be able to read music! Absolute beginners are as welcome as experienced singers. The group is focused as much on having fun as making music.
The repertoire of the group is wide and varied. They sing songs as diverse as Edelweiss, Chattanooga Choo Choo, and Rivers of Babylon. A full listing of their repertoire can be found on their website.
There is an annual fee of $110 ($77 for pension card holders, full-time students can join for free). There is also a small fee for each group rehearsal you attend; generally around $7. You can join up online, or simply come along to one of the meetings.
So if you think you might like to get involved with Sing Australia, come along to the free open night and try it out! Sing Australia National Director, Colin Slater, will be there to explain more about Sing Australia's approach and why it is appealing to thousands of people around Australia.
The evening will conclude with refreshments and the opportunity to have a chat with your fellow singers. All welcome.
