The
Sing-A-Long-A Sound of Music has become an annual tradition in the last few years, and it offers exactly what it sounds like: a screening of the classic film
The Sound of Music, but with the lyrics to each song put up on screen so everyone can sing along.
There will be two events held this year. One will be on Friday February 27 at 7.30pm, and the other on Saturday February 28 at 5.00pm. Both will be at
The State Theatre. If you haven't attended in past years, 2015 is the year to go; it's the 50th anniversary of the film!
What turns this event into more than what you could just get at home are the little things, like the warm-up with a celebrity host (Marika Aubrey for the last few years) and the costume parade. Because that's right, people really get into the spirit of the event; dressing up as lonely goat herders, nuns, baronesses, girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, or even brown paper packages tied up with string.
