Sinbads Middle Eastern Food

For falafels worth braving a freak Melbourne hailstorm

Just jogged through hail to review Sinbads, which is a great little Middle Eastern kebab and falafel joint on Swanston Street in Carlton, not far from Melbourne University or the Royal Dental Hospital.

It's not a fancy place, but there's a genuine "Hey friend, what can I get for you?" vibe here which you don't often see these days.

They got for me a falafel wrap (made on the spot). It was huge. The first half was delicious. Falafel, pickles, pink stuff. Fresh, light, tasty. But the second half felt like a marathon, and was ultimately a race I could not finish.

I've heard good things about Sinbads' chicken kebabs and you can also order hot plates here (complete with falafel, dips, beans, veggies, etc.), similar to those at The Kebab Factory.

Other goodies:

Heads-up, the floor is a bit uneven inside (it's slanty).
