A healthy, colourful and convenient place to eat
Simple Seed Eatery
Yarra Lane, author image
Simple Seed Eatery is a small cafe situated in Yarra Lane in South Yarra. This laneway has been built beneath the host of new apartments being developed in Yarra and Claremont streets and provides a link between the two with some nice little eateries such as Simple Seed. It is approximately 200m from South Yarra Station.

Simple Seed prides itself on offering whole foods in the way of salads, soups, smoothies and slices, the latter which you don't need to feel guilty of devouring. The salad and slices menu offerings change each day with new and colourful looking salads to choose from.

The salads are not only delicious, they are bursting with colour and goodness. Salads are available in two sizes, small for $6.00 and large for $9.90 and come in a biodegradable container with biodegradable cutlery.

The shop front is small but ample for this laneway and offers a cosy feel. The front window display showcases the day's fare and tempts you in for a healthy bite to eat.

There are a variety of salads to choose from, too many to mention however a favourite of mine is the Mexican salad which contains quinoa, kidney beans, black beans, capsicum, lettuce, and corn.

The brussel sprout salad contains roasted brussel sprouts, beets and purple cabbage. Purple food being rich in antioxidants.

The Moroccan sweet potato and millet salad is another favourite of mine.

If you are after something sweet, try a fruit smoothie, smoothie bowl or a slice all of which are good for you. The fruit smoothie in a bowl, pictured below, is made with mango, banana and pineapple and topped with blueberries, strawberries, pomegranate, almonds and goji berries.
