The Simon and Garfunkel Tour is coming down under to New Zealand.

After a sold-out and much-publicised tour in London's West End and in many cities throughout Europe, the UK production of The Simon and Garfunkel Story is returning here for a four centre national tour in Wellington, Auckland, Dunedin and Christchurch from 22-27 July 2017. The production was actually a smash hit in Auckland in 2016 and is back by popular demand.

This acclaimed production reportedly tells the fascinating story of how two Jewish youngsters and childhood friends from humble beginnings in Queens, New York became the world's most successful duo of all time. Simon and Garfunkel were an American 1950's era duo consisting of singer-songwriter Paul Simon and singer Art Garfunkel. This eventual folk rock legend started as a rock n roll twosome Tom and Jerry and became without a doubt one of the best selling music groups of the 1960's and counterculture icons alongside other superstars like the iconic Beatles, the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and a host of others.

The "story" takes the audience through all the songs that helped shape them, followed by the dramatic split in their fantastic duo career, and then through their individual solo careers, ending with the most stunning recreation of the legendary 1981 Central Park reunion concert. A most remarkable story of two outstanding entertainers who allegedly "hated each other's guts". Paul Simon reportedly said once that it upset him as a songwriter that his masterpiece Bridge Over troubled Waters was believed to have been written by Art Garfunkel, because Garfunkel sang it as a solo, with piano accompaniment. "We created a monster," mused Garfunkel.

The production features a huge production screen, 1960's photographs and film footage accompanied by a full band performing all their great hits including Mrs Robinson, Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Homeward Bound, Scarborough Fair, The Boxer, The Sound of Silence and many more of their great duo career.

The Simon and Garfunkel Story features UK performers Sam O'Hanlon as Paul Simon and Charles Blyth as Art Garfunkel
