Aromatic, delicious and entertaining - Simmer Huang's simmer pots will have you licking your lips and champing at your chopsticks.
International Chinese hot pot chain, Simmer Huang , has earned an enviable reputation for its "traditional with a twist" simmer pot dishes. The dishes originated with CEO Geng Huang's ancestor who was master chef to the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, the ancient recipes having been handed down to his grandfather, also a chef to the Royal Family. So, what are simmer pots? They're best described as unique versions of traditional Chinese hot pots, comprising fresh ingredients and a range of "secret" sauces. The simmer pot elements are assembled and cooked by Simmer Huang staff at your table, each dish creating anticipation and tantalising your tastebuds. And just when you think you're getting to the bottom of the hot pot, the theatre commences as the wait staff hand pull long noodles which are added, along with broth, to the pot's rich juices, creating a bubbling soup full of mouth-watering flavour. As well as satisfying all your senses, the hot pots are incredibly healthy as the simmering process ensures all the goodness of the ingredients are preserved in the pot.
Having already earned a strong reputation throughout China and in Sydney's Hurstville, Eastwood and the CBD, Simmer Huang has just opened its doors in Chatswood. In celebration of the Chatswood opening, Simmer Huang has partnered with former MasterChef Australia contestant Billy Law, making him the second in the 'Simmer Series' of well-known foodie Ambassadors for the restaurant.Billy, a cookbook author, renowned food blogger - A Table For Two - and genuine nice guy has developed a special 'Three Cups Chicken' simmer pot, available for a limited time at each Simmer Huang restaurant. The dish originates from the Jiangxi province of Southern China and the name derives from the three key ingredients used - Shoaling rice wine, sesame oil, and soy sauce. With Summer upon us, don't simmer at home. Whether you're looking for a great place to dine with a date or wanting something for a group dinner, Simmer Huang offers a deliciously different eating experience in a unique space.
