Early January brings a special treat for cruise ship fans this year with two amazing ships visiting in one day.

Silversea Cruise's Silver Shadow will find her way to the Outer Harbour Passenger Terminal, Lady Ruthven Drive, North Haven around 4 am on Monday 8 January 2018 before taking passengers cruising for 7 days from Adelaide to Singapore via Albany, Freemantle and Bali, departing at 6 pm. This will be the only visit to Adelaide for Silver Shadow this season.

Silversea Cruise's Silver Shadow can be said to be among the luxury class of cruise ships with one of the highest space-to-passenger ratios available, along with a high passenger-to-crew ratio. Accommodating 382 passengers and 295 crew members, there is approximately one crew member to every 1.31 passengers.

Silver Shadow offers rooms from the Vista Suite to the Owner's Suite with each suite coming with a butler, thanks to the high crew to passenger ratio. At 186 metres in length and with 10 decks, Silver Shadow is not among the largest of the cruise ships which come into port in Adelaide, however, she does not fail to deliver on services. Silver Shadow boasts restaurants, cafes, lounges, bars, a casino, conference room, card room, computer centre, library, pool and spa and even free yoga and pilates for the more energetic. For more information about Silver Shadow, please see the website .

If Silver Shadow is simply not enough, following her in will be Princess Cruises Golden Princess at 6.30 am. Golden Princess is due to depart at 9 pm when she will commence her 17 day round trip cruise from Adelaide, meandering to Melbourne, then on to six ports in New Zealand before returning to Melbourne and Adelaide on Thursday 25 January 2018. Arriving at 5.30 am on 25 January, she is due to depart at 9 pm.

Princess Cruises Golden Princess is a Grand-class cruise ship and is the sister of Grand Princess and Star Princess. Carrying 2,600 passengers and 1,100 crew members, she is 290 metres in length and has a total of 17 decks with 13 of them for passengers.

If you like the look of Golden Princess and decide to book a cruise, there is a range of rooms on offer from Suite to Two Bedroom Family Suite, each one with its own level of luxury. A choice of included dining options from traditional to anytime, crafted by Curtis Stone, the International Cafe and dare I say it Chocolate Journeys, will stop you from getting bored with the culinary offerings.

Once you have finished choosing dining options, you can go into a food coma or enjoy the amazing activities on offer. Everything from shopping, dancing, cultural displays, movies, pools, and sport are provided to entertain you. More information about Golden Princess is available at the Princess Cruises website .

Golden Princess is due to return to Adelaide again on Saturday 17 March 2018 when she will arrive at 5.30 am and depart at 6 pm.

Please be aware that train services to and from the Outer Harbour are not currently running due to major line works. Substitute buses will be running and taxis will be available.

This event is free and child-friendly and a great opportunity to bring the little ones along to see the big ships during the school holidays.

All times given are subject to change. For further information on Cruise Ships in Adelaide please go to the website or Facebook page .
