I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Coffee time! (Image JW)
Manly is full of places to eat and drink.
Silo West is a relaxed space opposite the ferry wharf where you can get great coffee with a friendly smile. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor seating where you can watch people streaming into Manly from the Sydney ferry.

The west branch of
Silo Espresso has been open since late September 2018. They open early to cater for morning commuters and offer a great range of healthy food options such as 'nourishing bowls', as well as a delicious egg and bacon roll on a charcoal bun.

Our friendly server suggested a wholemeal berry muffin to accompany our coffees and we were glad we did. The muffin was light and tasty with a strong berry flavour without being too sweet and the chia seed topping was a great crunchy addition. Our afternoon tea was great value at $12 for two coffees and a muffin to share, in addition to the entertainment provided by the tourists hiring bicycles next door.
