Are you ready to make a real snow man and have a crazy snow ball fight? No doubt, the children (and parents) of Brisbane will be very excited to have the chance to play in some actual snow this winter school holidays. We live so far from the Snowy Mountains here in Queensland and this event at Southbank will be the first time many of our children have even had access to snow. So, let's get shovelling...

The Silly Snow Men Play Park:
Cultural Forecourt, QPAC, Southbank,
Saturday, June 22nd - Sunday, July 7th, from 9am - 5pm daily

Snow4Kids is hosting this amazing event at the Cultural Forecourt, just in front of Queensland Performing Arts Center (QPAC) and overlooking the Brisbane River. There will be buckets of snow and plenty of spades to make your own unique snow man, or maybe you might want to join in the "snow ball challenge"? There will also be snow ball throwing, fun games and other wintery, snowy surprises.

Why not make the most of this perfect opportunity and take the kids on a winter wonderland adventure, here in sunny Brisbane? The cost is $20 per child for half an hour of snow play fun, which includes free entry for one accompanying adult. Children must be under 14 years old to participate.

See the Southbank website for more details.

Pity it's not free though. $20 for 1/2 hour - ouch.

A lot cheeper than a ski holiday to see snow and for lower income kids may be their only experience as kids to touch snow. Is say its a cheep experience when you look at it that way.

I took the grandchildren to this today and it was worth every cent - they loved making snowmen and snowballs and I highly recommend it as a fun school holiday outing.

Lovely idea, too expensive!! What a shame that it is so prohibitive. I have three littlies so $60 for 1/2 hour is just out of the question.

$20 for half an hour???? So is it $40 for an hour? Wow! That's expensive

Just visited with my two kids. $20 each for what? Two heaps of snow surrounded by bored staff forming snowballs, a troop of inflatable snowmen to knock down and plastic windows to shield parents faces, allowing kids to " hit us" with the staff's handiwork. We were expecting an area covered by snow and had brought the kids gumboots! Having said that, our two had fun and the girl at the exit let us stay a bit longer and was very friendly and chatty with the kids.

With the high cost of living especially with kids, I cant see how they can justify such an exorbitant cost - especially with heaps of kids to entertain these holidays... awesome idea just too costly...

Thank you Lucy. This would have been excellent activity except $20 exceeds the budget especially when one is out for an adventure with several children. Cheers, Andree

Great idea but would love to hear precisely how that high cost can be justified
