Even if you have never held a paintbrush in your life before, you will be very welcome to come along to these beginner's classes. Natalie will inspire and train you to paint in acrylic on silk, which is a therapeutic pastime. Learn to create art pieces, scarves and fashion items for yourself or for gifts.
Natalie will teach beginners to create silk scarves and pashminas using hot and cold batik techniques
During the 4 consecutive Friday lessons, you will learn various styles and techniques -
Week One: Cold Batik Painting on a scarf Weeks TwoandThree: Hot Batik Painting on a scarf Week Four: Free Painting on a pillowcase.
As students become more familiar with the skills and techniques of painting in acrylic on silk, they will be encouraged to create their own compositions and to be confident in developing their own unique styles.
There are two intakes for the Beginner Classes. The first intake of 3-hour beginner's classes on 4 consecutive Fridays runs from 16th February through to March 9th, with the second intake of 4 consecutive Fridays, commencing on March 2nd and running through to Friday 23rd of March. Both intakes go from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm with a break for refreshments.
All materials are provided, including silk, use of stretching frame, brushes and paint.
