The Guild Theatre is proudly presenting a special season of Silent Night, Lonely Night from October 26 to November 24, 2018.
Silent Night, Lonely Night was written by award-winning playwright Robert Anderson and the 1959 production on Broadway starred Henry Fonda and Barbara Bel Geddes. It was also adapted for the screen in 1969 and starred Lloyd Bridges and Shirley Jones.
Regarded as a classic Christmas tale, Silent Night, Lonely Night is set on Christmas Eve in a small rural inn in New England (USA). Both isolated and struggling with the circumstances of their marriage, they open up finding comfort and understanding in each other's company.
This bittersweet comedy with a message of longing and love is directed by Jim Searle and stars Peggy Leto, Barry McMaster, Russell Godwin, Sue Green, Eloise Tanti, Heidi Smith and Kai Yan.
