Tucked away in a side street in a Northern suburb is this little Thai Restaurant, Sila Thai. We came across it when searching for a place to eat before watching our son's football game in Albany Creek last night.

We were the first customers and we were greeted by friendly staff who made us feel right at home in this colourful and neat restaurant. While it looks kind of small from the outside, the interior dining area was quite spacious and beautifully decorated with Thai decor.

The use of colour especially the gold leaf paintings and decorations contrasted the vibrant pale green walls. Pictures of the King and Queen of Thailand were also on display giving the restaurant an authentic 'Thai' feel.

The menu was varied and they had a good choice of Chef Specialities along with the delicious selection of stirfries, curries and noodle dishes. The menu also displayed a large range of Gluten Free menu items.

Our starter was the Fish Cakes which happened to be Gluten Free and very spicy. ($9.00) A tasty way to start the meal. This went well with our Sauvignon Blanc. is fully licenced as well as BYO wines.

Our main meals arrived promptly and with such tantalising aromas of Thai herbs, we couldn't wait to tuck in. We thoroughly enjoyed our choices of Jungle Curry with roasted duck ordered extra hot ($19.90) and Stir Fry prawn with Basil and vegetables. ($21.90)

The restaurant ended up being quite busy with a steady flow of takeaway customers and dining in customers, we were grateful of getting in first even though service was very good. They also had an outside area for dining directly in front of the restaurant which was popular on this mild evening.

There is plenty of parking directly in front of the restaurant along this quiet side street, which is easy to get to.

The overall experience of dining here at was very enjoyable and pleasant. This was good for us as it was close by to where we were to watch our son's football game, which we also enjoyed even though for his team it wasn't their night. It was still a great game.
