Many April school holiday activities around Australia cater to young children, such as the Playground in Docklands, Funmantle in Fremantle, Boats by Polyglot Theatre and Museum of Brisbane's Storytime . The City of Melbourne has provided options for teens to enjoy, make friends and learn new skills through SIGNAL.

SIGNAL is the City of Melbourne's creative studio for young people aged 14 to 25 years. It curates workshops, exhibitions, installations, live events and performances across a range of art forms and practices. These April school holidays, it has teamed up with Arts Centre Melbourne and Immigration Museum to celebrate Melbourne's young creative scene.



The list of activities include:

1) Experience eight new screen and sound works by young and emerging artists daily from 7pm to 10pm from now till 18 April

2) Celebrate the launch of Green Your Noise on 10 April from 6pm to 9pm

3) Discover waacking in this street dance workshop on 13 April from 11am to 1pm

4) Discover vogue in this beginner workshop on 13 April from 2pm to 4pm

5) Enjoy a 2-day workshop and learn how to make a podcast on 14 and 15 April from 11am to 4pm

6) Explore stencil techniques in a 2-day workshop led by seasoned Melbourne street artist, Caper on 14 and 15 April from 11am to 4pm

7) Discover house dance in this beginner workshop on 16 April
from & #8203 ;11am to 1pm

8) Unlock your dancing creativity in this workshop on 16 April
from & #8203 ;2pm to 4pm

9) A one-off, outdoor event showcasing a new field of live, electronic music-making by using code to generate and manipulate melodies and beats on 22 April from & #8203 ;7.30pm to 9.30pm

Whether you choose to learn podcasting, practice street dance, discover the world of algorave or star in a skate video, there's something for every teen at SIGNAL. Workshop spaces are limited so get your tickets here .
