This school holidays season, Darling Harbour brings a free event - Sign City. This exhibition is a collection of some of the most strange and rub ticking signages from different corners of the world. Take them out of context and they will tickle every funny bone in your body.
The Signspotting Curator, Doug Lansky is the author of Lonely Planet's bestselling Signspotting books. The collection of over a 100 signs from around the world is an excellent example of how a statement acceptable in one part of the world seems absolutely absurd when repeated out of context.
For example, have you ever wondered where to go when you want to complain about elephants?
While many of the signs are funny on their own, the captions below each one of them is even more hilarious.
This delightfully entertaining exhibit in the south of Cockle Bay wharf has been filled with laughing visitors since its opening on 16th April. Avid tourists are also seen comparing some of the signs to ones they may have spotted during their adventures.
For the kids who enjoy the signs, there is a chance to join the free workshops in the creative construction zone setup close to the exhibition.
The exhibition is on display from 16th April to 1st May. Sign up for some signspotting fun this school holidays.
