From its name you would assume that it is mainly a dinner venue, however it is also a popular spot with the locals, for breakfast and brunch each weekend.

Our family have visited Sienna's a couple of times for breakfast and have been attracted to their reasonably-priced menu and large inside area, which is air conditioned in summer. When you walk along the streets of Nelson Bay, there are many breakfast cafes to choose from, however Sienna's always has diners sitting both inside and outside, enjoying their meals and chatting away happily. It is a relaxing way to start the day, in the stunning Nelson Bay.

Each time we have visited Sienna's, the staff have been friendly and the menu has had something on it for everyone. Choose from healthy breakfast meals, with the most expensive item on the menu just $17.50. On our visits we have chosen the Eggs Benedict, Avocado Smash, Breakfast Bruschetta, Halloumi Breakfast and Acai Bowl, which were all under $15.50.

If you have kids, there are also Kids Pancakes, however our young daughter enjoyed the toasted Ham & Cheese Croissant on the first visit and the Thick Cut Raisin Toast on the second visit. Although we had to wait a long time for our meals on the second occasion, as it was so busy and they were understaffed, we have enjoyed all of the meals and their exceptional coffee, which hits the spot every time.

Every meal was enjoyed with gusto, particularly the Acai Bowl, which was full of flavour and had delicious, crunchy granola. If you hate going to a café and cutting through hard sourdough toast, you will be pleasantly surprised by Sienna's, as they use soft toast which you can easily cut and eat. Brunch is served between 8am - 3pm, so you can sleep in and enjoy it for most of the day. Also, check out their lunch and dinner menus here . Please note that there is a 15% surcharge on public holidays and there may be a 45 minute wait in peak periods.

Although Nelson Bay has a variety of popular breakfast cafes located all through the town, Sienna's Italian restaurant is worth checking out on your next visit to Nelson Bay. It is a family-owned, local business that is popular all-day long. If you go there for breakfast, ensure you go back for dinner and enjoy a traditional, cheesy pizza, bursting with flavour. You can't go to an Italian restaurant without trying the pizza!
