While I was taking my pups for their afternoon walk along the local creekside bike paths, I noticed what in the distance looked like a dog washing tub. I curiously crossed the street and headed towards the
Red Hill Community Sports Club to take a closer look.

And I was right. There it was. A new outdoor dog washing
Showzer is on hand to help dog owners, fur pawrents and sitters to access an easy and convenient way to bring some sweet smelling scent and extra sparkle to their pooch's coat.

Showzer brings lots of good news to pups, families and communities with a unique approach to providing services. Showzer partners with local organizations to set up dog wash stations. They provide the dog wash machine and manage the installation and supply of dog wash liquid and the community partner supplies the space, electricity connection, water, and waste point. Showzer shares the profits 50/50 each month, making it a great result for everyone.
How it Works
It's as simple as walking through the small gate, picking up for pup and popping them in the tub, selecting your preferred shampoos and treatments, making your payment and off you go.
If this is your first time using a self-service doggy bath and are unsure how it works, there are easy-to-follow instructions on the outside of the Showzer to ensure a safe and successful wash. Here's how it works:
Step 1
Secure your dog into the tub entering through the door on the Showzer. A tether is provided in the left back corner of the tub to make sure no one tries to jump out.

Step 2
The top single button is the rinse button and activates the plain water. Choose and select your treatment style from:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Flea Control Solutions
Blow Dry Hi speed
Blow Dry Low speed
Tub Disinfect

Step 3
Remove the dog from the tub. Rinse the tub with Tub Disinfect. This is only to be used at the end of the cycle once you have removed the dog from the tub. Tidy hoses by hanging them over the bracket on the right-hand side of the tub, and close the tub door.

Make sure your dog is secured and leave through the same gate you entered through.
How often should you wash your dog?
The frequency of bathing your dog depends on things such as lifestyle, coat type, and skin conditions. This can range from once a week to once a month. The benefits of the outdoor wash are that some pups feel more comfortable having their owner bathe them rather than at a salon. It's also a special bonding time for you both. It helps you to maintain their hygiene without having to make an appointment at a groomer and transport them there.
Supporting Animal Charities
What is extra special about this service is that Showzer donates $1 from every wash to support
Guide Dogs Assistance animals. So everyone wins. The machines also have braille and tactile for the visionary impaired.
