Ladies and gentlemen, fire up the train tickets. Get the umbrellas out. Prepare to pay $50 for a pie and ice coffee (not actual costs) because it is showdown time again.
Crows verse Power, the battle continues this Sunday at the beautifully redeveloped Adelaide oval, the always adored home of cricket, rivalled only by Lords in England and the MCG in Melbourne as better cricket grounds. Adelaide oval has now stepped into the light as the premier AFL ground in Australia, its ability to harness sold out crowds to create an intimidating ring of noise that has left some players unable to communicate on the ground. This new mecca of sports will be treated to another blockbuster this Sunday to the lucky ones enough to obtain a ticket.
This state has flourished with the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval and the showdowns will only benefit, as Port Adelaide has done on and off the field. They are quickly surpassing the Crows as the most loved team in the state (minus the stagnated sports media of this state) with its vibrant promotional attitude and over-active CEO, the one and only Koshy.
The crows in comparison seem like a stagnant old guard who are more driven by past success and a complacent mindset than a rejuvenated establishment. Just take a look next time you see a group of kids kicking the footy, the numbers of Power tops increase whereas the Crows are not exactly burning it with off and on field success.
