If you've never been to Teppanyaki before, here are some basic Do's and Don'ts:

DO:
- be ready for a laugh and a bit of fun
- come in a big group – it adds to the atmosphere
- let staff know if it's your friend's birthday (they'll get special attention!)
- disregard when your parents told you not to play with your food

DON'T:
- wear your best dress
- go if you prefer quiet intimate settings
- take someone there on a first date (but maybe a 3rd or 4th!)
- go if you're likely to get upset about a bit of food on your clothes

is a fast-paced, fun filled restaurant that specialises in the theatrical Japanese style of cooking where the chef prepares the food at the table. Patrons are seated around a central cooking station, where the chef will impress you with his dexterous and nimble chopping and food preparation skills, as well as his cheeky persona.

Depending on what menu you opt for, the meal consists of several delicious courses. I still have fond memories of the Wagyu steak, calamari and fish fillet. Be on guard for the round of fried rice as he'll make you catch it! The trick is to stay very still and let him do all the work as he'll throw it precisely into your hands, but if you flinch you'll be wearing it!
