There are many workshops/classes you can take during winter - some of them are really fabulous and well worth doing. All workshops will be at Work-Shop Melbourne, 195 Argyle Street, Fitzroy unless stated otherwise.

This is a list of just some of these!

[b] 1. WEAVE A WALL HANGING [/b]
This will be held on Saturday 15th June 2019 from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. The cost is $150.

The looms will be provided for use in the workshop only. If attendees want to buy a loom, they will be available on the day for $75.00 ($20 off the normal price). You will also be able to use the tools and materials needed to create a finished woven wall hanging to take home.

[b]2. INTRO TO CERAMICS: HAND-BUILDING WITH CLAY[/b]
This will be on Saturday 22nd June 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. This will cost $140.

You will be shown how to hand build your own ceramic wares. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and you will make something you can use every day to take home!

Learn the basics of hand building with clay; pinching, slab, coiling. Your pieces will be high fired and a choice of Daisy's coloured glazes will be available to add to your pieces for the last firing.

[b]3. BEGINNERS CALLIGRAPHY [/b]
This calligraphy class will be on Saturday 22nd June from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm. The cost will be $120.

Calligraphy is the art of doing lovely writing. You use a pen dipped into ink and it has been done this way for centuries. The same tools that were used many years ago to write historical scrolls are now used to make a mix of traditional (Copperplate, Spencerian, Italian Hand, etc ) and modern calligraphy.

This class is all about learning the basic traditional letterforms before changing them to make a modern take on calligraphy.

You will go through the basics, learn about the materials and tools, learning how to load the nib with inks and how much ink to put on your quill. Also, you will be shown how to hold a pen and learning how to write the actual letters.

[b]4. BEGINNERS TERRARIUM WORKSHOP[/b]
A terrarium can be a beautiful piece for either inside or outside. I have made several, however, they would have turned out better had I gone to a class!

Create a lush miniature jungle in one of the most popular workshops. Terrariums have been around for a long time and they are a way you can bring the outside in and are low maintenance.

You'll learn how to design them, select suitable soil composition and foliage for your glass bowl and care for your new little ecosystem so it survives and thrives. There will be a huge range of tropical plants, rocks and fun figurines for you to choose from and all materials will be supplied.

[b]5. GOOD CLASS MASTERCLASS - CALM DOG [/b]
This will be held on Tuesday 25th June from 6.30 pm to 9.00 pm. The cost is $40.

If your dog is not a calm one, then this workshop is a must attend! If he is often in trouble because of his/her enthusiasm, then this class is for you! This class is for dogs and their humans. It will aim to teach your dog to be calm and relaxed making him easier to take anywhere or have people over to your house.

You'll learn fun and easy ways to teach your dog to relax at home and in public.

[b]6. ACRYLIC EARRING WORKSHOP: FRUIT FRIENDS[/b]
This will be on Thursday 27th June from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm The cost is $110.

Peaches, watermelon, lemons, bananas, oranges, and apples are on the menu. You can wear your fruit salad after you make your own fruit earrings. The coloured acrylic is engraved and laser cut into pieces for you to choose from. You'll then add the paint and make either small or large earrings.

[b]7. WATERCOLOUR & WINE [/b]
This will be on Friday 28th June from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. The cost of this class is $60.

You will learn to paint with watercolour in this two-hour workshop. It is ideal if you want to learn painting or improve your painting skills. You will have some art to take home when you finish!

[b]8. FERMENTING MASTERCLASS [/b]
This will be on Saturday 29th June from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm. The cost is $80.

Fermenting vegetables is a good idea, especially if you grow your own and have heaps of a particular produce. It also enhances the amount of vitamins and minerals within the vegetable.

[b]9. SOURDOUGH BASICS [/b]
This will be on 29th June from 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm. The cost is $90.

This is a beginner's course on the basics of making sourdough bread.

This bread is made through the process of fermentation, a natural leavening which produces the perfect bread staple. This bread is chemical-free and delicious.

This comprehensive four-hour workshop covers ingredient selection, starter care, and the processes of sourdough fermentation and baking.

[b]10. RESIN JEWELLERY WORKSHOP [/b]
This will be on 30th June from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. The cost is $130.

Here you will learn several beginners' tips which will give you an idea of how to make your own resin jewellery. You will learn the basic techniques of pouring and mixing with colour pigments, finishing techniques as well as attaching findings.
