Calligraphy is the art of doing lovely writing. You use a pen dipped into ink and it has been done this way for centuries. The same tools that were used many years ago to write historical scrolls are now used to make a mix of traditional (Copperplate, Spencerian, Italian Hand, etc ) and modern calligraphy.
This class is all about learning the basic traditional letterforms before changing them to make a modern take on calligraphy.
You will go through the basics, learn about the materials and tools, learning how to load the nib with inks and how much ink to put on your quill. Also, you will be shown how to hold a pen and learning how to write the actual letters.
4. BEGINNERS TERRARIUM WORKSHOP
A terrarium can be a beautiful piece for either inside or outside. I have made several, however, they would have turned out better had I gone to a class!
Create a lush miniature jungle in one of the most popular workshops. Terrariums have been around for a long time and they are a way you can bring the outside in and are low maintenance.
You'll learn how to design them, select suitable soil composition and foliage for your glass bowl and care for your new little ecosystem so it survives and thrives. There will be a huge range of tropical plants, rocks and fun figurines for you to choose from and all materials will be supplied.
