Sometimes in life, there are moments where we want to take a quick sprint out of our day-to-day life. There are circumstances where we just need to go for a walk and breathe some fresh air with the distant sea waves calming your sensory organs. I wanted to take a breather, so I looked for a few places where there are fewer humans and more nature to explore when I found the Shorncliffe pier. A place for the loners, the storytellers, the lovers, the poets and for anyone who needs to spend time with themselves.

I went on a Monday morning, took the train from Buranda station to Shorncliffe station. After I got down from Shorncliffe station, it was only a fifteen-minute walk towards the pier. Beforehand I saw a few pictures of the pier and the ocean but the photographs didn't do justice for what I was witnessing. I was mesmerised by the glorious blue I saw. As I walked further towards the beach, I was able to see blue Jellyfish scattered around the beach and seashells as well.

I spent an hour just staring at the sea and poured all my overwhelming emotions to the ocean and then went under the shade where there were big trees and benches. This was an ideal place to have a nice lunch. There were no grocery markets or restaurants near the pier since the population is very less in Shorncliffe.

I walked along the small path and towards the right side of the pier and it was peaceful indeed. Lastly, the most beautiful experience is walking on the pier. The white painted wood matched the very sad looking ocean which was in between blue and green. The pier was made out of strong wood and many tourists and locals take aesthetic photos along the pier. I was also able to see blue jellyfish swimming across the sea and they could be seen very vividly. Few people were fishing when I was there, which again, is a good hobby where one can find solidarity.

I couldn't wait for the sunset but I believe it would have been really elegant and the colours of the pier and the architecture enhance the beauty nature has to offer. This was a beautiful experience and is a must go to anyone who wants to spend time with themselves or with their lover to visit this place.
