Picture this; Paper shrapnel settles at the end of the unwrapping frenzy, the tablecloth is streaked with drips of delicious indulgence, shoes are off. As your guests are gushing about the stunning gifts you've given, you could be pouring a splash of your favourite wine and casually reminiscing how "This year I did my gift shopping with a glass of wine in hand, a few quick stopovers for gourmet produce in between artisan stores, had amazing service in store and parking was a breeze". That story will only come true when you Shop Barossa in 2016 .

A majestic day out in the Barossa is hardly a South Australian secret. It conjures thoughts of rolling vineyards, cellar doors and delicious food. On Saturday, December 10 you still get all of those amazing experiences and can also take part in Shop Barossa: A Taste of Christmas. The Barossa is fast becoming recognised as an indulgent shopping destination, where boutiques and homeware stores line the main streets of townships offering everything from cultural homewares and children's toys to artisan jewellery, clothing and furniture. Barossa retailers are making the trip even more worthwhile, affirming the region as a unique shopping destination, bringing you a unique one-day Barossa shopping experience, just in time for Christmas.

Discounts are on offer alongside indulgent shopping experiences where you will likely find yourself talking to the maker or shop owner and being offered traditional bite-sized Barossa treats (or maybe even a glass of something). Retailer, Bridget Laucke of Alabaster Barossa said the Barossa is making a name for itself as an exclusive shopping destination with its range of high quality, diverse artisan and distinctive products. "Shopping in the Barossa is not your average shopping experience, nor do we offer the same as everyone else. Shopping Barossa style is a more soulful experience. We take the time to make sure our products have integrity, and this also means supporting local makers and artists along much-loved designer brands" says Laucke. "Collectively as retailers, we hope this initiative will further strengthen the Barossa's reputation as a major shopping destination, which is further enhanced by our world-famous food and wine."
