Part of the ongoing and exciting process of building Nowra and Shoalhaven as a hub for the arts and creativity, this Festival will be held on Saturday 27 July 2019 from 10am to 3pm (Fundraiser movie the day before - see below). Filled with illustration and writing workshops with bestselling, award-winning authors and more, you'll find individual events for the 27th of July on the Facebook page.

Prior to the Festival there's a Schools Program Movie Night Fundraiser on Friday 26 July 2019 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm at Roxy Cinema, 41 Berry St, Nowra. Get your $25 tickets HERE. This fundraiser helps raise money for the Shoalhaven Readers' & Writers' Festival Schools Program, so show your support and help raise money for next year's school author visits.
This special screening of The Public will also have a meet and greet with bestselling children's author rockstarJacqueline Harvey. This is a film about how an act of civil disobedience turns into a standoff with police when homeless people in Cincinnati take over the public library to seek shelter from the bitter cold. It's written and directed by actor Emilio Estevez and stars Alec Baldwin, Taylor Schilling and the director.
If you're a fan of Alice-Miranda, Clementine Rose or Kensy & Max then the Children's Tea Party with Jacqueline Harvey is for you. Get your tickets ($5-$15) to this event HERE. It'll be held on Sat 27 Jul 2019 from 3-4.30pm at The Dog & Monocle, 82-84 Junction St, Nowra. Dress up as your favourite character on the day and you could win a prize for being the best dressed.
Your ticket includes high tea ($15 per child) for the kids and just tea or coffee ($5 per adult) for the adults. Please note that all children must be accompanied by a paying adult. A ticket is required for all guests due to capacity limitations. If you have dietary restrictions, email firstname.lastname@example.org by Wed 24 July and let them know.
Expressions of Interest are also being taken for 2020. If you'd like to be a part of this amazing Festival as a sponsor or in any capacity, they'd love to hear from you. This Festival has been sponsoring author visits to four local schools as part of their ongoing commitment to bringing the joy of books, reading and writing to the young members of the local community. Your help in attending the fundraiser movie as aforementioned will help increase the number of schools, authors visit each year.
