Starring Anthony Scundi, Sebastian Gunner, Madeline Claire French and Nick Cain, Conor McPherson's Shining City is directed by Q44 Theatre 's creator and founder Gabriella Rose-Carter. The season for this production is from 8 to 27 November 2016 at the home of Q44 Theatre , 1st floor, 550 Swan St, Richmond. The Opening Night performance is on Tuesday 8 November at 7.30 pm and the rest of the season's performance times are Wednesday to Saturday at 7.30pm and 6pm on Sundays. Tickets range from $30 to $45, with opening night tickets including a post show celebration gala with the cast and crew.

There is a strict lockout policy for all performances, hence it's recommended that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

In Dublin, John (Sebastian Gunner), a grieving widower, claims to have been visited by the ghost of his recently deceased wife. Guilt ridden and afraid, he begins therapy sessions with Ian (Anthony Scundi), a counsellor. Ian however, is struggling with demons of his own.

Lost and lonely, as the therapy sessions unfold with truth and lies revealed, these two souls look for answers to their desperate need to connect and eventually find some sense of meaning to their own existence.

There is a good twist to this production, in the form of a ' Pay It Forward' initiative. Q44 takes mental health seriously and have placed importance on supporting Beyond Blue and raising awareness within the community, on depression and anxiety. This initiative is designed to give back to the community by making theatre more accessible to those less fortunate.

You are invited to buy a gift ticket for someone unknown to you. Someone who may never otherwise get to experience the richness that theatre offers. The gift tickets go to Beyond Blue who allocate them to those experiencing depression and other related mental health issues, and also to those who support someone with mental health issues.
