Behind the traditional façade of this little Shingle Inn lurks a Modern Australian menu with specialty teas from T2 and even a wine list.

In Nanna's day, the Shingle Inn brand was synonymous with ladies partaking of high tea and scones, but the cosmopolitan clientele at Oracle expect so much more.

Feast your eyes and taste buds on the Sweet Potato & Baby Spinach salad ($15.50) with sun-dried tomato, parmesan, pine nuts and pesto mayo ($15.50).

Dip fragrant Falafel Balls ($9.00) into their dukkah-and-cayenne-pepper-spiced yoghurt dipping sauce that is silky smooth with just a hint of something lemony. Ditch the friend and keep this all to yourself.

Forget the diet as you munch your way through grilled fingers of Serrano Ham & Buffalo Mozzarella ($11.00) oozing its soft golden perfection across crisp and crunchy Turkish bread engorged with butter infused with a hint of garlic.

Get back on track and keep it simple with this guilt-free Chicken, Walnut & Tarragon sandwich ($12.90), with tender chicken breast, walnuts, apple, celery, and tarragon mayonnaise.

Held together by lightly toasted and crunchy Turkish bread, and offset by a side of rustic chips, this dish is Modern Aussie at its best. The Gourmet Chicken Burger ($15.90) is constructed from tender char-grilled chicken breast, avocado, tomato, red onion and lettuce greens, topped with a savoury beetroot chutney and creamy mayonnaise. Yum.

You'll have a perfect excuse for a vino to wash it all down, or maybe a signature blend coffee, T2 tea, a smoothie, frappe, or the Shingle Inn's famous Lime Mint Julep ($5.30).

Do not the leave the premises before indulging your inner diva with the tangy deliciousness of Lemon Meringue Pie ($7.70) or an unforgettably Decadent Affogato ($5.00).

You may have guessed. This is not your typical Shingle Inn.
This current incarnation of Shingle Inn at Oracle is only 11 weeks old, and the baby is clearly thriving. The savvy new franchisees, Paul and Dawn, and their two daughters, have set out to provide something special that suits the clientele attracted to the area. Their menu is an almost carbon copy of what has proven so successful in Brisbane's trendy Oxford Street at Bulimba, and it is appealing to patrons here in Broadbeach.

Menu items are marked as gluten free (GF), milk free (MF), healthy living (HL), and suitable for vegetarians (V).

The quality and freshness of their menu is unmistakeable, as all produce is sourced from local suppliers whenever possible, and fresh supplies of all baked goods arrive direct from the Capalaba bakery every morning.

They understand and appreciate that high quality customer service is key, and this unpretentious little coffee shop may soon become a 'Destination'.
