Many skills are in danger of disappearing. A full day workshop at The Lost Ones Gallery will take place on 15 August. The Lost Ones seeks to promote the lost arts, and have fun doing so.

You'll learn how to set up and maintain your own indigo dye vat, learn about suitable fibres, mordanting, safety and various traditional Shibori dyeing techniques.

Bring along a white or light coloured fabric, yarn or clothing that you would like to dye, especially natural fibres such as cotton, wool, silk, bamboo. Some calico and white cotton fabric will be included. You can purchase some blank tea towels/napkins on the day but it's cash only.

Please wear clothing and shoes you don't mind getting dye on!

After the workshop you will get to take home your hand-dyed fabric/clothes and an information sheet explaining the techniques used and where to source materials.

If you would like to undertake a workshop to learn about Shibori Linen Dyeing head to Lost Ones Gallery on 15 August.
