Bringing the community together for a night of fun
This must be one of the biggest and most popular street parties in Brisbane. The Sherwood Community Festival is a free family event, which keeps getting bigger and better each year. There will be heaps of kids' activities including rides, slides, Santa, face painting, animals and a library. In addition, there will be all the festival favourites such as live entertainment, food trucks and market stalls galore.
Bouncy Castle for Kids (May Cross)
My pick of the attractions include:
Free rides for the kids
A petting farm
Workshop activities from Street Science
Wildlife display area
A pop-up library with storytelling for the children
Food stalls and trucks
Live entertainment including bands, choirs, dance troupes
A nativity play – complete with live camels (yes, camels)
A designated children's zone area with Santa Claus (ho ho ho).
Food Stalls Galore (May Cross)
There is going to be a giant raffle with some amazing prizes. Raffle tickets can be purchased on the night from the information desk. The organisers have said that they are really excited about the upcoming festival and are looking forward to welcoming the extended community to Sherwood again for this year's celebrations. See you there for all the fun of the fair.
Giant Slide (May Cross)
