I recently stayed at the Sheraton on the Park in Sydney for my birthday with a couple of friends. This Hotel by far exceeded all my expectations.

I became a Starwood Hotel member online first before making my booking by phone. This enabled me to get a much better rate.

We arrived early around 12.30 though our check in wasn't until 3pm. A friendly young lady greeted us at the concierge desk. I asked if by chance the room was ready early and she said yes it was and we were upgraded you to King room with a city view on the 20th floor. She also validated my parking ticket and said we could leave our car there until midnight tomorrow evening. This was fantastic as I was with two girlfriends and the mid year shopping sales were on, so we intended to spend the next day shopping until we dropped.

We all gasped in delight on opening the door to our room.

After drinking a couple of birthday celebration Champagnes we stripped off into our bikinis and grabbed the luxury white robes and took off to check out the top floor Pool, Sauna, Steam and Spa!

I was quick to jump in the pool even though it was the middle of Sydney Winter, but inside was nice and warmed to a perfect temperature in the pool and out.

The girls jumped into the heated Spa and wished they had more Champagne. But it was only 3pm. We enjoyed the Spa then went in for a detox for the skin in the nice hot Steam room. Ah total bliss! We went out on the balcony took some more photos then back to the room to get ready for the start of the Sheraton Club members lounge 'Complimentary drinks and Canapes from 5pm – 7.30pm' This was part of our special Sheraton Club room inclusion that made me book.

Here you not only enjoy several beverages, but a buffet style display of Canapes ranging from cups of soup, cold cuts, cheeses, hot samosas, king prawns, oysters, fruits and petit fours. In fact there was so much food that we didn't end up going out to dinner. If you feel the need for more food there is an award winning restaurant on the ground floor serving an amazing Buffet as well.
The view was stunning once again and the lounge area so inviting with different areas that you relax in. Lovers lounges in cosy corners and more open spaces for larger groups. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there, then ventured out to a couple of great local bars which I will review at a later date.

The next morning we were too tired to swim in the pool so we headed back to the Sheraton Club lounge again for our complimentary Continental Breakfast which was more like a small buffet. The view was once again spectacular and we lazed on the lounges reading the papers and enjoying our last few hours at the Sheraton. You can even watch TV if you must. The Sheraton Club lounge has its own Concierge so on checking when we needed to check out by, he gave us a late check out until 12 midday. This was perfect as we were all a little weary from my birthday celebrations the previous evening. After a leisurely breakfast we checked out, and put our bags in the car. The parking is $55 a day and we could leave it until midnight. This allowed us the joy of wandering all day shopping and finishing with a few cocktails at the local Hilton Hotel Marble Bar before heading home.

I truly recommend you look into staying at the Sheraton on the Park. I promise you it will exceed all your expectations.
