Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast is home away from home. The five-star resort and spa is beautifully set amidst well-tended gardens, sparkling pools of water and has the ocean and surfing beach as a backdrop.



An indoor, clear pond with a fountain in the middle surrounds the mezzanine floor. This gives the glass-walled resort an aura of freshness, brightness and radiance. At the least, it makes for an invigorating view from the main dining area.

Sheraton Mirage is not a high-rise, which adds to its allure. It has a rococo porte-cochere that compliments the large glass entrance doors and the luxurious reception area and lobby beyond the doors.



The building is designed for easy access to all three floors. One can walk or take the lifts from most parts of the building to get to the rooms, the restaurant and other dining areas, the lobby, the gym, the spa, the mezzanine floor, and the outdoor pool and bar area.

The rooms are spacious and elegant. They include extra space for a table seating for two, as well as, a separate space for a comfortable day bed. The bathrooms are large and have their own massive-sized spa baths. The king-sized bed (for which one may request on booking) is unarguably the luxuriant detail in the rooms. But it is the sum of all parts that gives the rooms their zing.



Last but certainly not least, is the gorgeous outside pool and bar area. There are plenty of chairs and lounges in the gardens that surround the pool. They can be moved around and positioned as one sees fit or to find shade under a tree.

Beyond the pool area is a walkway along the beach, which is perfect for a jog or a ride on a pushbike. Immediately fronting the pool area is a patrolled swimming and surfing beach.



The resort's location is a plus; it is far off the main drag of Surfer's Paradise, and as such, is quiet and more restful. The theme park Sea World is a stone's throw away, which makes it more suitable for families holidaying with kids. The posh and ritzy Marina Mirage Shopping Centre is directly across the street.

Posh and ritzy aside, there are enough other reasons for staying at Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast. I personally prefer to stay here for easy and unaffected reasons.
