As the world's premier classical Chinese dance company, Shen Yun Performing Arts have delighted millions around the globe. Established in 2006 by a group of top classical Chinese artists in New York, Shen Yun has since brought the ancient culture of China to various stages around the world including the world's top venues—Lincoln Center in New York, Kennedy Center in Washington, and the London Coliseum. Having received standing ovations at the world's best venues and performed at numerous sold-out shows throughout North America and Asia, Shen Yun has become a global phenomenon.

Experience 5,000 years of Chinese culture via a performance that will touch your soul. Watch in awe as the culture returns with classical Chinese dance, live orchestra, stunning costumes and gorgeous backdrops. Through music and dance, Shen Yun allows you to witness this divine culture that will leave you overwhelmed, speechless and absolutely mesmerised.

Here is a little taste of what to expect.

Classical Chinese Dance

The classical Chinese dance was developed based on the extensive Chinese culture which dates back thousands of years. Encompassing a vast array of techniques such as jumps, spins, flips and other very difficult tumbling moves, the dance can be masculine and energetic, soft and graceful, grave and inspiring, lively and humorous. The vast repertoire of movements and postures of the dance, while may appear effortless, enables the vivid representation of a variety of emotions.

A Unique Orchestra

The Shen Yun Orchestra flawlessly combines Western and Chinese instruments and creates a dramatic new sound. You'll hear the beautiful sounds of ancient Chinese instruments such as the emotive erhu and the delicate pipa in addition to a full symphony orchestra consisting of Western strings, percussion, woodwinds and brass. This will be something you've never heard before, mark my words.

Ethnic & Folk Dances

Be dazzled and wowed by the ethnic and folk dances that fill the stage. Witness the Mongolians riding across the endless grasslands, allow the ladies of the Yi ethnic group charm you with their dances by the river, spot the celestial fairies in the clouds, and hear the booming drums awakening the dusty plateaus.

Myths & Legends

Watch in amazement as the myths, legends and literary classics come alive on stage with courageous generals, angelic maidens, playful monks and even a flying pig!

Still not sure what to expect? Then head to the official Shen Yun website and watch one of their videos. This is definitely a performance not to be missed.
