In 2006, an inspired group of Chinese artists living overseas came together with the mission of "reviving 5000 of divinely inspired Chinese culture", which had been all but decimated following 60 years of Communist rule. The astonishing result was Shen Yun , a New York based company with humble beginnings which rapidly grew to become a global phenomenon.



In 2013 Shen Yun is heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Canberra for a very limited season, offering audiences a chance to experience this spectacular performance. The new 2013 show will feature the Shen Yun orchestra with all-original compositions providing the live musical backdrop for a song and dance extravaganza.



Shen Yun promises to take you on a wondrous journey through the passages of time to a land steeped in tradition, beauty, wisdom and stunning scenery. Traditional costume , music , song and dance combine to create a dramatic and explosive concert for all ages.





The extraordinary talent of the performers aside, Shen Yun is renowned for its exquisite and colourful handmade costumes, designed for both authenticity and visual effect. As are the animated backdrops, their detail and beauty lending themselves to the journey.



Each piece of the performance forms part of a story filled with drama, wonder, history, myth and legend - be it an original song with spiritually reflective lyrics, a stunning piece of choreography, an instrumental orchestral piece, a group theatrical number, a solo vocalist or a seemingly impossible acrobatic feat, Shen Yun is destined to mesmerise and astound.
