Shell Service Station Restaurant, Coober Pedy

One afternoon we found ourselves in Coober Pedy with only 30 minutes spare as we set about a hurried afternoon with a tour booked into the Breakaways - I needed to get a quick lunch.

We popped into a cafe and the cafe owner advised us that the best lunch in the place was in the Shell service station.



With a raised eyebrow, but no time to query this, we set off to find the aforementioned restaurant.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that everything they said was true; it was more like a bistro than a service station.

As you enter, you are met by a large signboard and it certainly feels a little like you are in a cafe section of a service station. However the girls were so kind and friendly, the food was prompt and home cooked and the servings generous.

In the eating area it feels a little like a bistro where the staff are friendly and attentive.



The servings were generous, prices are reasonable and delivered efficiently.

All in all, a good place to stop for a quick  meal and a good feed.
