For lovers of Indian cuisine, there's a great little restaurant along the Pacific Highway at Crows Nest.

Shehnai Indian Restaurant is a licensed restaurant offering the best in authentic food from Northern India. Upon arrival, diners can expect to be greeted by friendly wait staff. The attention to detail is evident as you're seated at a table set with comfortable chairs, crisp white table linen and spotless dinnerware.

Shehnai's menu offers a wide range of vegetarian and meat-based entrées, mains, side dishes and house specialties. There is also a selection of house wines and soft drinks that can be served before or with the meal.

For those who are new to Indian cuisine or prefer less intense flavours, the chef can adjust meals to suit individual taste preferences. Simply ask your hosts when they take your order.

If unsure of what to order, pappadams with yoghurt sauce or garlic nan bread is a good way to start. Shehnai's Chicken Tikka Masala is full of flavour while their Lamb Rogan Josh is amazingly tender. Served with fragrant basmati rice, these dishes which may seem small at first, are enough to satisfy the appetites of 2 or 3 people.

The restaurant will gladly accommodate for customers requesting take away meals and they also offer free home delivery for minimum orders of $25.

Open 7 days a week, Shehnai is a wonderful dining experience for anyone wanting to sample authentic Northern Indian cuisine.
