She and Her Perfect Husband – TV Series Review


She and Her Perfect Husband is written and portrayed showcasing women's empowerment and how women can manage everything and what she's capable of. Qin Shi is a lawyer at a very famous law firm, Cheng and Hui. There are unwritten rules at Cheng and Hui Law Firm, that they prefer to have a female employee who is married and already has children before they enter this company. The reason behind this rule is that the company doesn’t want to take the risk of hiring a single female employee and later on will have to take maternity leave. For Qin Shi and many other female employees of Cheng Hui, this unwritten rule is just unfair. But they don’t have the power to change the rules.

Qin Shi promises to reach the top management of this company and then change the absurd rule and make it fair to all employees, single or married, with or without children. In order to do that and be able to enter this company, Qin Shi has to pretend to be a married woman and have a boy from her marriage. She found a perfect match for her “husband”, Yang Hua, through a dating site. However, Yang Hua is a single and jobless man in the same city who is pressured by his mother to find a girlfriend. They both agree to have a pretend contract marriage since they see the benefit in their own current situation.

Qin Shi spins the tale that her husband, Yang Hua, is a successful investment analyst working abroad and a perfect spouse. Although Qin Shi’s outstanding work performance earned the approval of Cheng and Hui’s owner, many times, Qin Shi constantly faced threats that her lies would be exposed at work. Yang Hua tries the best that he can to help Qin Shi and covers up everything so the storyline of their fake marriage will be uncovered. But through the time in this fake marriage relationship, the feelings get real and they start to admire each other’s qualities.

She and Her Perfect Husband is showing the true colour and the real struggle of working women, they need to prove themselves at work, and they are also required to be housewives and raise their children. You can also see many politics happening in the workplace. One thing that is outstanding in this Chinese drama is the chemistry between Xu Kai (as Yang Hua) and Yang Mi (as Qin Shi). She and Her Perfect Husband can be watched through streaming services.
