Starry Nights Outdoor Movies are doing an impressive job of bringing the '
memorable' back to 2020 with some nostalgic entertainment for movie lovers, showcasing an awesome selection of cult classic screenings from yesteryear, at the Eumundi Drive-In. In the past few months, movie buffs have been given the opportunity to '
escape' with a splendid selection of grand ol' classics.
Based on a Stephen King novella,
The Shawshank Redemption - Rated MA/Age 15 plus tells the story of a law-abiding banker, Andy Dufresne, (Tim Robbins) who is framed in the 1940s for the double murder of his wife and her lover. Over the next two decades, Dufresne serves his sentence at the Shawshank prison, putting his accounting skills to work for the warden. During his long stretch in prison, Andy Dufresne comes to be admired by the other inmates, including an older prisoner, named Red (Morgan Freeman) for his integrity and unquenchable sense of hope.
In 2015, the United States Library of Congress selected The Shawshank Redemption for preservation in the National Film Registry, finding it '
culturally, historically or aesthetically significant'.
On Saturday, 10 October, Starry Nights Outdoor Movies, has once again partnered with
The Imperial Hotel Eumundi to bring movie lovers a screening of the classic flick,
The Shawshank Redemption.
Tickets are ONLY $30 per carload (legally speaking, of course). To guarantee your carpark on Saturday 10 October,
tickets can be pre-purchased, via ticketebo online here.
Even though Queenslanders are doing so well with COVID, there are still restrictions in place to keep everybody safe:
Social distancing measures are in place to protect visitors as well as Eumundi Drive-In employees;
Car numbers are limited, with vehicles spaced at least two metres apart to ensure appropriate physical distancing;
The movie sound is transmitted, via FM, to car radios;
Please pre-purchase your entry tickets online, to ensure a contactless entry, via a barcode scanner;
Please note no 'walk-ins' will be permitted;
Hand sanitiser stations will be available;
There will be no food for sale on-site (just a candy bar and popcorn). Drive-In guests are encouraged to either bring a 'car picnic' or to pre-order takeaway food from The Imperial Hotel on P: 5442-8811; Sala Thai on P: 5442-8806 or Il Mio Posto on P: 5442-7026 for pick up on the way to the drive-in;
There will be no rubbish bins on site – so please take home what you bring;
Guests are requested to remain in or near their vehicles, unless absolutely necessary;
Bathrooms on site will be monitored to ensure individual use and will be regularly cleaned and sanitised;
Social distancing should be observed at all times.
*The organisers thank guests for their understanding and patience.
