An open fire at night, a fresh water creek and great family camp site; Shark Park at River Bend in Canungra has all of these.

Camp Fire at Shark Park
On Friday night we hooked up our camper trailer, dog in tow (yes dogs are allowed) and drove to our camp site, just 4 kms from Canungra township.
A beautiful family environment and very reasonable camp fees ($20 a night for 2 adults, one child and a dog). There is plenty of space to play cricket, toss the football around or venture off for a swim or trek down the creek.
Facilities are basic with toilets but hook up a solar shower and you are right to go. Firewood is available to buy at $10 a box, and late afternoon is a great time for the kids to gather branches to get the fire going, Firelighters are always a good idea for those that are not boy scouts.
At night the kids love to run around playing spotlight and toasting marshmallows on the fire before falling exhausted into bed for some much needed sleep.
Sunday morning after packing up, head into the township for a cuppa or delicious breakfast at Café Metz before heading home.
All in all a peaceful, relaxing time was had and we are looking forward to our next stay.
