If you ever thought that Hollywood had run out of ideas, think again, as I present to you, the latest Death from the Deep echo-horror franchise, Sharknado!

Written by Thunder Levin (Mutant Vampire Zombies from The 'Hood! & American Warship), directed by Anthony C. Ferrante (Boo & 2007's Headless Horseman) and with a surprisingly star-studded cast, including Ian Ziering (Beverly Hills, 90210 & Drawn Together ), Tara Reid (American Pie & Charlie's Farm) and John Heard (Home Alone 1 & 2 & Big), Sharknado will have you freaking out over the prospect of a tornado filled with hungry sharks and laughing out loud at the same time.

This film is ridiculously fun to watch, as it is riddled with amazingly low budget CGI sharks, repeated stock footage of real sharks swimming in the obvious ocean, even though they are sometimes supposed to be in a swimming pool. You'll also find incredibly fake, yet still somewhat scary puppet sharks for some closeups, along with loads of over the top fake gore, hilarious one liners and its catchy theme song, which will stick in your head for days.

For a made for television, SyFy Channel original, the plot and script are actually quite solid and while the acting is purposely cheesy, it is done very well. It is the perfect addition to your movie night, when you're looking for a B-grade laugh fest, that will have you and your friends talking for a long time to come.

This film is fast becoming a cult movie favourite and the 5th film in this long running series, is about to be released upon the world, begging us to ask the question, what is next for this killer shark storm?

After you watch the film, remember to check out the Sharknado: Go Shark Yourself App and make some cool shark fighting videos with your friends.

Sharknado is rated MA and is not recommended for those under the age of 15, as it contains strong violence.

7.5/10
