Yum yum cha cha cha lunch Chinese style
Lunch at the Shark Fin House is a delicious daytime dining destination. Set in the heart of Melbourne's China Town, Shark Fin House was easy to find - situated about halfway along Little Bourke Street between Russell and Exhibitions Streets.
The restaurant was busy when we arrived just after midday but staff were courteous and efficient and we were quickly ushered to a table on the ground floor. A lift takes patrons to the other levels of the restaurant.
A yum cha style affair, carts of steamed and fried delicacies were trawled past our table at regular intervals. We ordered Chinese tea and settled on bamboo baskets of sui mai, prawn dumplings and steamed pork buns.
We devoured our lunch quickly and were left with a comfortable full feeling. The food was great, although we both agreed we had savoured better steamed pork buns elsewhere. Although not rushed, we were only patrons for a full 30 minutes.
Definitely a spot for a quick bite and run, our lunch bill for two at Shark Fin house was just over $20.
